*sigh* I think I'm going to try reading the novel. They have a whole lot of nothing going on in these episodes. I'm tired of watching side conversation for 3 minutes, flashing lights for 2 minutes, then the episode is over. It's like stabbing my eyes watching Dragon Ball Z. Except DBZ was more like flashing lights for 15 minutes, awkward conversation for 3 minutes, then its over.
Except... I cant find a novel. At least, not on google, is there another name aside from the ones listed? I've tried looking but only get this animation.

Daniel Rivers • 2 years ago

lol, I wish it was 23 min., the show is a little over 9 minutes long that's it, minus the credits of course.

But your definitely correct.

Someone needs to tell them you can't have a cliff hanger with a five minute ep.

There just isn't enough time to produce any story, you end up with all the good parts being used as a cliff hanger instead of giving the story much needed depth.

Just amateurish editing and producing.

Lame episode. A stupid waste of time. Did they think this was peerless martial god with all the side characters making remarks?

vio • 2 years ago

I'm not Chinese myself but from what I've been told, traditionally they are very judgemental of others which is why there are constant remarks from the side characters about their clan's ability.

OfficialDrixMalone • 2 years ago

I wonder why they're judgemental like that, is it because miserableness or something?? I couldn't comprehend having a "culture" like that where random people just follow traditions such as that.

vio • 2 years ago

Not sure where you are in the world but from what I have seen in the UK, its out of jealousy mostly or because they want to be amused by the failure of another. It's not just a matter of culture here either, it's more like its a part of human nature as a whole. Personally, I dont get jealous of others where materialistic goods are involved but I do get jealous of other things sometimes. In regard to other things like watching others fail... yup that amuses me but only if they act like they are something special and/or treat others badly :P

TheMMSpirit • 2 years ago

That is actually one of the smartest posts I've seen in a while. I was wondering why every single webnovel and chinese donghua always has the peanut gallery making vicious comments. I never thought it was a cultural thing, aren't chinese people polite and harmonious?

vio • 2 years ago

I dont judge them as a whole but the ones I've met so far have been nice. I've never been to China though so I dunno how they are there where there is a stronger presence of culture.

OfficialDrixMalone • 2 years ago

Where do you get the stereotype that Chinese people are polite and harmonious?? I won't judge either as I'm wise enough to know not to judge a whole group of people but gah damn the characters in these donghua/manhua/etc...are horrible human beings and aren't shown in a good light (though we need enemies for the MC's, it surpasses that lol).

All I've been seeing is them being hella judgemental, selfish, violent, snobby, a$$holes and more lol. You're right, they depict Chinese as lil devils in these series for real, to the point you wouldn't want to meet them smh. Always odious pricks making vile comments, menacing douchebags with evil & toxic personalities, commiting nefarious/heinous acts and arrogantly trampling over the weak/small/less fortunate smh. Just rude scum using power, money & status/titles to act demonic and torture others, especially the children of corrupt officials who are menaces to society aha, lil devils with no respect for others nor care smh.

TheMMSpirit • 2 years ago

Well, my wife is polite and harmonious. But you're right, they're portrayed nasty in these donghua. I can't believe with the amount of damage these guys do to each other and buildings, cities, clan destroyed, mountains blown up and such that humans even exist in the donghua.

Ned Stark • 2 years ago

What are all you dumb people talking about? It's seriously a parade of clowns here bringing down the collective IQ of the comment section by acting stupid. Remarks from side characters is just a way for exposition of the story. Without the comments from side character you would never know how rare the situation is, the fatty and the clan leader along with the governer's wife and the 2 hostile clan representatives are the important characters in this episode, so while they express their feelings on what's happening it explains what's happening to the viewers, and how significant it is, while also expresses their personal stand on the matter.
This is not the only literary technique to do exposition, but it is one of the fast ones. It works for these kind of series because cultivation series have fast and long plots. So on the fly explanations by audience helps maintain that pace. While Japanese anime have slower plots, the exposition is done by the mostly important characters, well there is a lot one can talk on this topic.

Anyways, all you need to know is the audience remarks are a form of exposition technique traditionally used in cultivation novels which are mostly used to show how insanely OP the MC is. It is kinda stupid of you that a fantasy cultivation novel is any representation of China's real social culture. That's like saying the Lord of the Rings, represents British culture.

vio • 2 years ago

Firstly, thank you for your input. In regard to what I wrote, that little titbit has been confirmed by multiple Chinese people in and outside of China including the US and the UK. You are welcome to continue posting further derogatory comments if you wish, but know that I wont be wasting my time responding to you any further.

Ned Stark • 2 years ago

Good, at least you are smart enough to shut up when you are proven wrong. Still, watching you guys make assumptions about Chinese people based on a fantasy society was too funny, truly deserving to be called clowns.

For your benefit, I will also let you know that the clan and sect based society, along with the fighting, jealousy and the resulting drama doesn't exist in China.

Hopefully, you stop mixing fantasy with reality. That's what you should be concerned about, not about being stubborn and standing your ground. Just the fact that your making inferences based on a fantasy world that has nothing to do with reality should be alarming to you.

Also, know that nobody cares if you respond or not my comment was for the other people who stumble upon this, so that they can know how stupid that line of thinking was.
